Wouldn't it be great when you have a computer problem if you could solve it yourself? For major upgrades and diagnosing of difficult issues, we would recommend seeing a reputable computer solutions provider such as ourselves. However, there are some things you can do yourself without the need to call us up! There are a number of useful "self-help" websites we recommend that can assist you in diagnosing and resolving your problem.

Having trouble the speed of your internet connection or not sure if a website has gone offline? Check it out with the Global Broadband Speed Test at http://www.speedtest.net. An Australian version providing similar functionality is OzSpeedTest located at http://www.ozspeedtest.com/bandwidth. You'll need a working internet connection to visit these though! Another useful website is Down for everyone or just me? located at http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com.

Looking for a manual? Check out The Manuals at http://www.the-manuals.com and for more computer instructions why not check out EzInstructions at http://www.ezinstructions.com.

Having trouble with a Microsoft product? Check out the Automated Troubleshooting Services at http://support.microsoft.com/mats. The Microsoft Support website also provides a detailed knowledge base of a range of questions and answers to problems and issues located at http://support.microsoft.com. Microsoft Office Online also has a dedicated help section online at http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/help.

However If you want to go more technical, check out Microsoft TechNet at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/ee_advanced.aspx. Microsoft even offers free sample chapters of their latest books if you are interested, http://www.microsoft.com/learning/books/chapters/default.mspx.

Lost some data? Before trying anything else (or getting a hammer out), try Recover My Files at http://www.recovermyfiles.com/data-recovery-software-download.php. If it is just a corrupt file, check out the "How to recover a lost file in Word 2007 or in Word 2003" article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827099.

We hope these links help!
