A new feature in Windows 7 is the ability to create a system repair disc. A system repair disc is a bootable CD/DVD which enables recovery of your computer quickly and easily should files or Windows itself become corrupted. It can also be used in case of a spyware or malware to run scanning and removal software using the Windows Recovery Environment.

 

Here’s how to do it!

To create a system repair disc:

Click the Start button, then click Control Panel.

The Control Panel window will appear.

Click System and Maintenance, followed by Backup and Restore.

Click Create a system repair disc.

bullet

Select the CD/DVD drive you wish to create the repair disc.

bullet

Insert a blank disc into your computer’s CD/DVD drive.

bullet

Click Create disc.

bullet

The System repair disc will then be created.

To use the system repair disc:

Insert the newly created system repair disc into your computer’s CD/DVD drive.

bullet

Restart your computer.

bullet

Press a key to start the computer from the CD/DVD drive.

bullet

Select the appropriate language settings and click Next.

Select a recovery option, and then click Next.

Operate the Windows Recovery Environment as required.
