CCleaner is a free system optimization application,
enabling users to achieve optimal performance on their computer by
cleaning a range of Windows components and removing unused and temporary
files. According to its website, CCleaner allows Windows to run faster,
more efficiently and gives you more hard disk space.
Obtaining and installing CCleaner

Download CCleaner from
one of the locations listed at
http://www.ccleaner.com/download
and
follow the prompts to download the file.

When the file has completed downloading, run
“ccsetup205.exe”, the CCleaner setup program. Follow the prompts
using the default settings given, however you may wish to unselect
the option to install the Yahoo! Toolbar.

CCleaner will commence installation on your
computer. When it has completed, click Finish to close setup.

Using CCleaner - Cleaner

Double-click the
CCleaner icon from the desktop to run
the program.

The CCleaner program will
open and bring you to the ‘Cleaner’ screen.

Select the groups of files you’d like to clean
on the ‘Windows’ and ‘Applications’ tab and then click
Analyse.

CCleaner will then analyse what files are able
be deleted (no files will be deleted yet), and provide you with a
list containing some details about the files.

Click Run Cleaner.
|
 |
CCleaner will then prompt you that this process
will permanently delete files form your system. If you are sure you
wish to proceed, click OK. Otherwise,
click Cancel.

Once cleaning is complete, you’ll be
given a list of what files have been deleted.

That's it! You've cleaned your system
using CCleaner!
