Late last year, CyberGuru received a question via our website from Joan in Tasmania, who had read our Windows 8.1 Opinion blog article. She asked us where she could find where the new Windows 8.1 Sound Recorder app saved its sound recordings. CyberGuru helped Joan by performing some research and gave her the answer by calling her and walking through the steps to make a shortcut so she could access the file quickly. She and her husband Harold are now able to record and save their home made music onto CD!

We recently received this unsolicited testimonial that we thought we’d share with our readers:

To Chris – CyberGuru,

I have not forgotten how kind you were and how generous you were with your time when I asked a computer question about the new video recorder in Windows 8 not having a ‘save to’ option. I still haven’t got over the fact you rang me up!

Harold (husband) and I (how very royal that sounds!) have had a lot of fun with the program. We have had musical sessions with the next door neighbour as well and the cacophony of accordions, piano and electric organ with an occasional dog howl added rings out into an otherwise peaceful surrounding.

We have made CDs for our own enjoyment and for our children although I have noticed that our daughters have not put their CD in with their favourites LOL!

Harold and I would like to wish you and your family a Peaceful Christmas and hope the New Year brings all that you would wish for.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on Earth, good will to men!

With very best wishes,

Joan and Harold

Joan even sent it via the Computer Active Forums to share with her fellow Windows Sound Recorder app and audio enthusiasts. We appreciate the feedback and the referrals.
