Do you have an Outlook.com email address running on Windows Live Mail 2012?

Are you running Windows Live Mail 2012 to check your Outlook.com email address? It’s time to update your email application. Get updated with a free one-year Microsoft Office 365 Personal subscription.

Microsoft has recently announced that it is no longer supporting Outlook.com email accounts on Windows Live Mail, as it is now using the latest Office 365 infrastructure. If you are unable to send or receive mail using Outlook.com, and you are running Windows Live Mail 2012, then it’s time to update your email application.

Microsoft has offered alternative methods to now access your email, in addition to accessing it via web browser. You can use the Mail app contained within Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10 to connect to your account. However, if you are running Windows 7 and don’t wish to upgrade, you may want to take advantage of the free one-year subscription of Microsoft Office 365 Personal, which contains Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Whilst emails stored on Outlook.com are available, if you have emails stored on your computer, you may wish to migrate them to Outlook. The Microsoft Office Blog article describes this change on more detail, as well as responding to a number of questions and answers.

If you would like a hand to migrate your email, using the Mail app or to take advantage of the offer to use Office 365 Personal subscription, please contact us.
