There is less than one week until the existing copper wire connections, including existing landline phone, ADSL internet and Telstra Cable internet service will be disconnected from Aspley as a result of the NBN being available within the area.

As noted in an earlier CyberGuru Blog post, the first home phone and internet services are scheduled to be will be switched off and replaced by the NBN fibre network in parts of Aspley from 28 September 2014.

If you live in an area where NBN fibre is available, existing copper wire connections will be permanently disconnected, and replaced by the NBN fibre network in your area. NBN Co has listed the surrounding suburbs, including Zillmere, Boondall, Taigum, Fitzgibbon and Carseldine in the “build commenced” phased. Bracken Ridge and Bridgeman Downs are at “build preparation” phase. To check your address, visit the NBN Co website to check your address (link opens in new window).

As noted by NBN Co, if you wish to continue using these landline phone and internet services, you’ll need to move to the NBN well ahead of the disconnection date in your area.
